About Cody Blue Pilkington
Cody showed an early curiosity and aptitude for learning. His grandmother began teaching him games like Scrabble at age three, nurturing his love of facts and systematic thinking. His family remembers him as gifted, compassionate, and slightly nerdy — with a deep respect for education. Cody graduated from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham. He was active as a Boy Scout, served as a junior volunteer firefighter with the Grifton Volunteer Fire Department, and attended First Christian Church of Grifton. While a sophomore at NC State studying mechanical engineering and a member of the Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity, Cody was tragically killed in a fire.
