American Angus Auxiliary Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by American Angus Auxiliary
Overview
The American Angus Auxiliary awards scholarships each year. The total amount distributed will vary annually; the specific dollar amounts for first through fifth place (for both male and female recipients) will be set by May 1, 2026. These scholarships are financial awards and do not require recipients to perform equivalent work in return.
State Submissions and Where to Send Applications
Each state may forward one male and one female application for consideration at the national level. State or regional scholarship chairpersons must submit both applications to the American Angus Auxiliary Scholarship Chairperson. If your state does not have an Auxiliary State/Regional Scholarship Chair, a designated representative of the State/Regional Angus Association or the State Junior Angus Advisors should submit the completed application on the state’s behalf. If you have questions about submission, please contact the American Angus Auxiliary Scholarship Chair.
Recommended Attendance
All applicants are encouraged to attend the National Junior Angus Show, which is held in early July.
Miss American Angus Selection (for female applicants)
The scholarship application also serves as the initial step in selecting candidates for Miss American Angus. Every female who applies for the scholarship will be required to complete a separate form indicating whether she intends to compete for the Miss American Angus title if given the opportunity. The five highest-ranking young women who choose to compete will be announced at the National Junior Angus Show and must be present for the Miss American Angus contest that takes place in November at the Angus Convention. Information about the duties and expectations for Miss American Angus, along with the intent form, will be mailed to each female applicant after her scholarship application has been received. Note: electing not to pursue the Miss American Angus opportunity does not affect a candidate’s scholarship eligibility.
Scholarship Applicant Qualifications
1. Candidates must be unmarried males or females, recommended by their state or region, and meet all other eligibility criteria.
2. Applicants must show a proven interest in and active involvement with Angus projects at the time their application is submitted. Membership in the National Junior Angus Association (3201 Frederick Ave., St. Joseph, MO 64506) is required.
