Overview
SWE provides scholarship funding to students working toward undergraduate or graduate degrees in engineering, engineering technology, or closely related engineering fields.
Who may apply
You qualify to apply for a SWE scholarship if you meet all of the following:
- You are an incoming college freshman, a current undergraduate, or a graduate student.
- You plan to enroll full time for the upcoming academic year (exceptions can be made for reentry or other nontraditional students).
- You will be enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering, engineering technology, or computing program for the upcoming academic year (verify accreditation here).
OR
You will be studying engineering or a related program at an eligible institution in India (verify accreditation here).
Note: Current SWE Collegiate or SWENext members are strongly encouraged to apply; membership is given additional consideration during review.
What you must submit
- Reference contact: Provide contact details for one reference. This can be an academic referee (for example, a teacher or professor who can attest to your scholastic work) or someone who can speak to your character and personal qualities (for example, a coach or supervisor). Ask permission before listing anyone as a reference, and confirm their contact information is correct so they can receive any requests and submit their letter before the application deadline.
- Unofficial transcript: Include an unofficial copy of your most recent academic transcript.
