Christopher King Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Cobb Community Foundation
Chris King was a percussionist in the Lassiter High School Band from 2011-2015. He died in April 2016. Chris thoroughly enjoyed his years in the LHS Band and the friendships he made with other band members. Christopher was described by his closest friends in band as kind, helpful, accepting of others, never willing to put others down, one to befriend underclassmen and one to divert attention from those feeling embarrassed.
To honor Christopher’s life, his parents have established the Chris King Memorial Scholarship. This IS NOT a scholarship based on academic achievement or musical skill. Instead, it IS a scholarship based on character and only those that exhibit Chris’s most important character traits should be nominated. Only seniors and juniors in the LHS Band or Color Guard are eligible for the scholarship. Recipients will be chosen from nominations made by members of the LHS Band and Color Guard, regardless of academic class and all are encouraged to nominate a candidate.
The estimated scholarship award will be $1,600 with an estimated number of 2 scholarships available.
