Henley & Henley, Law Practitioners, recognize the profound influence of community service and the importance of dedicating time to volunteer work.

Regardless of the type of community service you engage in – whether it's helping out at a local food bank or contributing to wildlife preservation – your efforts are highly valued. In recognition of this, Henley & Henley, Law Practitioners, are proud to present the Dedicated Volunteer Scholarship. This scholarship is designed to honor students who have selflessly devoted their time to community service, particularly those who have made a significant difference in the lives of those in need.

The Dedicated Volunteer Scholarship is available to college students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to their communities through volunteer work. The scholarship is open for the Spring 2026 semester. Each semester, the scholarship will award $1000 to one deserving student, which can be used towards any educational expenses.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be considered:

  • You must have completed more than 10 hours of community service in 2025
  • You must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
  • You must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an undergraduate or graduate program within the United States for the Spring 2026 semester
  • You must be at least 18 years of age
  • You must be a U.S. citizen

How to Apply?

The online application for this scholarship can be accessed at the bottom of this page. Applicants will need to provide proof of enrollment at their college or university, documentation of their GPA, and a signed log of their volunteer hours.

We also request that all applicants submit a typed essay of approximately 500 words that responds to the following prompt:

  • Share a specific memory from your volunteer work. How did you make a tangible difference in someone else’s life?

How Will Applications Be Assessed?

Essays will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • The power of your personal story
  • The overall structure and coherence of your essay
  • The relevance of your essay to the prompt
