Youth in Philanthropy Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Association of Fundraising Professionals Rhode Island Chapter
A Rhode Island high school senior who has shown a strong commitment to civic engagement and community service will be the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship. The student must be a resident of Rhode Island, entering their final year of high school and set to graduate in the same year the application is submitted, to qualify for this scholarship. The student's dedication to volunteerism and philanthropy should be evident in their active participation in these areas.
The scholarship's objective is to financially assist the recipient in their pursuit of higher education. It aims to encourage future leadership in the fields of volunteerism and philanthropy.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The Youth in Philanthropy Scholarship will be granted based on the following selection criteria:
- Proven dedication to enhancing the quality of life for Rhode Island residents through active engagement in volunteer and philanthropic endeavors.
- Proven ability to inspire and encourage others to participate in community service and fundraising for community needs.
- Proven commitment to volunteerism and philanthropy through substantial personal involvement in a specific non-profit community organization (e.g., homeless shelters, food banks, hospitals, aiding the handicapped and others in need, and neighborhood projects).
