Billy and Bobby Stevens Scholarship

Introduction The Billy and Bobby Stevens Fund was created through the wills of Mr. and Mrs. W.P. Stevens to honor the memory of Billy and Bobby Stevens.
Purpose This fund provides undergraduate scholarships to students from Bibb, Houston, Crawford, Twiggs, Jones, Peach, or Monroe counties who are pursuing their first bachelor’s degree.
Eligibility
- Must be a graduate of an accredited high school located in one of these counties: Bibb, Houston, Crawford, Twiggs, Jones, Peach, or Monroe.
- High school cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 is required; recipients must also maintain a minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.5 to remain eligible.
- Must be enrolled full time in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited four-year public or private institution in Georgia. This scholarship is only for first undergraduate degrees and is not available to students pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree.
- Recipients are required to provide an official transcript at the end of each semester for which they receive scholarship funds.
Selection Criteria Awards are made based on:
- Academic achievement
- Demonstrated financial need
- Personal character
Application Requirement — Recommendation Applicants must supply the name and email address of one reference who has agreed to submit a recommendation on their behalf. After the applicant submits the application, the reference will receive an email from the system with instructions to upload their letter. Please confirm the reference’s willingness and notify them when you submit your application so they know to expect the request.
Award Details
- Amount: $3,000 per year
- Total number of awards: Eight recipients annually (with two new recipients selected each year)
Renewal and Leaves
- Recipients may renew the scholarship for each subsequent year of undergraduate study for up to four years, provided they complete any required follow-up tasks assigned by the CFCG Scholarship Director and continue to meet the fund’s eligibility requirements.
- If a prior recipient falls out of eligibility or must temporarily reduce course load or take a leave for a semester due to exceptional circumstances, the student should contact the Community Foundation to determine whether continued funding is possible.
