Brian Pearson Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Iowa Games
Introduction
The Brian Pearson Memorial Scholarship was established by the Iowa Games in 1998 to honor the memory of Brian Pearson, a former Iowa State University basketball player who passed away from brain cancer in the fall of 1997. Pearson was known for his strong work ethic, commitment to others, and the meaningful relationships he maintained with family, friends, neighbors and teammates. Those who knew him often describe him with words such as integrity, honesty and courtesy. The scholarship exists to commemorate Brian by recognizing young athletes who demonstrate similar character.
