Introduction
The JRHMSF operates as an independent, tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Its sole purpose is to award scholarships to children or other dependents of members of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Donations to the Fund are tax-deductible as charitable contributions to the extent allowed by law.
Eligibility
Academic Scholarship
- You must be a current high school senior who intends to enroll full time as an undergraduate at a four‑year college or university in the United States, Puerto Rico, or Canada for the fall 2025 semester.
- You must be the son, daughter, or financial dependent of a Teamster member in good standing (this includes BLET, BMWED, and TCRC).
- U.S. applicants should submit ACT or SAT scores if available; high-quality scores are encouraged.
- Applicants planning to attend a military academy or military school are not eligible.
Training & Vocational Scholarship
- You must plan to enroll in an accredited non‑baccalaureate training or vocational program (for example, at a community college or approved training institution) located in the United States, Puerto Rico, or Canada. The program must be related to employment in a Teamster‑represented industry, class, or craft.
- You must be the son, daughter, or financial dependent of a Teamster member in good standing (includes BLET, BMWED, and TCRC).
