DAR Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Daughters of the American Revolution
Overview
Annually, the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) awards a number of scholarships to students who demonstrate a strong commitment to continuing their education. Scholarships are offered for study in areas such as history, economics, law, political science, medicine, nursing, occupational and physical therapy, elementary and secondary education, chemistry, mathematics, the sciences, and English.
Eligibility and general conditions
- Applicants must be citizens of the United States.
- Applicants must be enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, an accredited college or university located in the United States.
- Multi-year scholarships, which are generally renewable for up to four years, require continuous (consecutive) years of enrollment.
- Selections are made based on academic achievement, dedication to the field of study, demonstrated financial need, and/or particular restrictions tied to individual scholarships.
- Scholarship funds are deposited with the recipient’s college or university; any portion of the award that is not used for the student’s education must be returned to the DAR.
- An applicant may receive only one national scholarship awarded by the DAR Scholarship Committee.
