Fight the Flame CRPS Awareness Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Fight the Flame
Introduction
The Fight the Flame (FTF) scholarship was established to promote education and awareness about Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). Also referred to as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), CRPS is a chronic, degenerative neurological pain condition.
About CRPS
Although many people with CRPS appear outwardly well, they frequently contend with severe, persistent pain that disrupts daily life. As an invisible illness—comparable in visibility to conditions such as fibromyalgia, depression, diabetes, and eating disorders—CRPS patients often face the additional burden of having their symptoms minimized or misunderstood. Increasing public awareness, supporting educational efforts, and funding research are essential steps toward finding better treatments and ultimately a cure.
