VMDAEC Education Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Virginia, Maryland and Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives
Intro Each year the Education Scholarship Foundation grants $1,500 scholarships, along with additional awards. Eligible uses Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, student fees, room and board, or required textbooks. How recipients are chosen Selection is based on a weighted evaluation: 40% financial need, 40% academic performance, and 20% personal statement. Eligibility - The applicant’s parent or legal guardian must have their primary residence served by one of the 16 electric cooperatives affiliated with the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives. (A list of eligible cooperatives appears below; maps of service areas are available online.) - Applicants must be graduating seniors from high school or homeschool in 2026. - Applicants must be starting their first semester at a postsecondary or trade school in Fall 2026. Administrative information The Foundation is registered with the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
