GAWL Foundation Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Georgia Association for Women Lawyers
The GAWL Foundation is committed to supporting the academic pursuits of deserving third-year female law students in Georgia by offering scholarships.
The primary objectives of the GAWL Foundation Scholarships are:
To acknowledge the efforts of female law students who have shown a dedication to excellence, leadership skills, and a propensity for philanthropy;
To foster superior legal studies by extending support to deserving students; and
To further the goals of both the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL) and the GAWL Foundation by promoting the welfare and growth of female lawyers, advocating for their interests, and inspiring philanthropic activities by female lawyers in Georgia for the betterment of the wider community.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The applicant must be a third-year female law student in good academic standing at a law school in Georgia.
SELECTION CRITERIA: The scholarships will be granted to applicants who exhibit one or more of the following: academic excellence, leadership qualities, and a deep commitment to their profession and community. Financial need may be taken into account during the selection process, but it is not a mandatory requirement. A compelling candidate will demonstrate her active participation in initiatives that promote the progress of women in the profession and community, as well as her leadership capabilities.
SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT: The number and value of the scholarships will be decided by the Foundation.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: The fully completed application, along with the necessary documentation, must be emailed to gawlfoundationscholarship@gmail.com by Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
ANNOUNCEMENT OF AWARDS: The scholarship recipients will be revealed on April 16, 2025.
