GAWL Foundation Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Georgia Association for Women Lawyers
The GAWL Foundation awards scholarships to deserving third year women law students attending a Georgia law school.
GAWL Foundation Scholarships are intended to:
Recognize women law students who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence and an aptitude for leadership and philanthropy;
Promote excellence in legal studies by providing assistance to deserving students; and
Advance the missions of both the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL) and the GAWL Foundation by enhancing the welfare and development of women lawyers and supporting their interests, and by encouraging philanthropy by women lawyers in Georgia for the benefit of the greater community.
ELIGIBILITY: The candidate must be a third-year female enrolled in law school in the State of Georgia in good academic standing.
CRITERIA: Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who demonstrate one or a combination of criteria, including academic achievement, leadership, and a strong commitment to the profession and her community.
Financial need will be considered in awarding the scholarships, but is not a prerequisite. A strong candidate will highlight her involvement in programs that affect and promote the advancement of women in the profession and community, as well as her abilities as a leader.
AWARD AMOUNT: The Foundation will award scholarships in quantities and amounts to be determined by the Foundation.
DEADLINE: The completed application, including requested documentation, must be
emailed to gawlfoundationscholarship@gmail.com no later than Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
AWARD DATE: Scholarship awards will be announced on April 16, 2025.
