The acceptable fields of study encompass agricultural education, agronomy, horticulture, plant pathology, and agricultural communications, among others.
The scholarship is open to high school seniors, as well as undergraduate and graduate students from Georgia, studying at any accredited institution within the United States. First-semester college students are required to submit their high school transcript along with proof of college enrollment. All applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 and demonstrate a need for financial support. The scholarship is awarded without regard to race, gender, or religious affiliation. However, previous winners of the scholarship are ineligible to reapply. The scholarship funds are distributed according to the fund's guidelines.
The recipient of the GACD Scholarship is chosen by the Scholarship Committee. The scholarship amount is disbursed in two installments of $500 each, paid directly to the student upon verification of successful completion of each of two semesters of full-time academic study.
