Larry F. Ball Memorial Scholarship — Application Information
Overview
Each year the Larry F. Ball Memorial Scholarship awards $4,000.00 to a female Ohio resident who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree. Applicants must be committed to completing a four‑year college degree and enrolled at a US‑accredited four‑year college or university in Ohio (any undergraduate year). Nontraditional students are encouraged to apply.
Eligibility Requirements
- Female; resident of Ohio.
- United States citizen.
- Currently enrolled at a US‑accredited four‑year college or university located in Ohio (any undergraduate year) and committed to finishing a bachelor’s degree.
- Demonstrated history of community service and a clear commitment to continued community involvement.
- One letter of recommendation from someone who is not a family member.
- Nontraditional students are welcome.
Award Details and Use of Funds
- The scholarship amount is $4,000.00.
- Funds will be paid directly to the recipient’s college account and may be applied to tuition, books, and/or school fees. Scholarship money will not be given directly to the student.
- The award is issued one time in the Fall semester of the award year. Recipients may not reapply in following years.
If You Are Selected
To receive the scholarship, the chosen student must provide:
- Full name and student ID for the college where the funds should be sent.
- Name of the university, plus the Financial Aid Office contact person and the mailing address for delivery of the award check.
Timeline
- Application deadline: April 15.
- The scholarship is awarded in the Fall semester of the same year.
