Introduction
We recognize how costly education can be and want to help. AFE awards more than 30 scholarships each year, with individual awards ranging from $500 to $5,000. We’re proud to invest in the next generation of professionals in the industry.
Who is eligible
- You must be preparing for a career in floriculture or horticulture (or a closely related field).
- You must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen or resident, or be enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada.
- You must have at least a 2.0 grade point average. (Certain scholarships may list different GPA requirements—those exceptions will be noted in the individual scholarship descriptions.)
How to apply
- Carefully review each scholarship description to confirm your eligibility.
- You may apply for up to six scholarships. Applications listing more than six selections will be disqualified.
Award amounts and payment
Scholarship awards range from $500 to $5,000. Payments are issued as joint checks made out to the student and the college or institution the student will attend in the fall. Recipients will be notified by July 1 each year.

- Current resume
- Two letters of recommendation (upload as PDF): preferably one from an instructor and one from an employer. Do not submit more than two recommendation letters. Any recommendations uploaded or requested will be considered for all scholarships you select.
- Most recent school transcript (official transcripts are not required). Upload as PDF.
