Overview
The Dennis G. Glore Memorial Scholarship Fund honors Dennis G. Glore, an independent foodservice designer and consultant. The fund awards one-time scholarships to academically promising students enrolled in Hospitality Studies or Culinary Arts programs.
Who may apply
- Current college students living in the St. Louis area. Eligible Missouri counties: St. Louis, St. Charles, Lincoln, Warren, Franklin, Jefferson, and the City of St. Louis. Eligible Illinois counties: St. Clair, Madison, Bond, Calhoun, Clinton, Jersey, Monroe, and Macoupin.
- Students working toward a certificate, associate, or bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Studies or Culinary Arts.
Important notes
- This award is non-renewable, but previous recipients are welcome to submit a new application.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have not already earned a bachelor’s degree.
How recipients are chosen
The St. Louis Community Foundation will select recipients based on a student’s dedication to and academic preparation for Culinary Arts or Hospitality Studies, the strength of essay responses, and any unusual circumstances the applicant presents. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Please respond to all questions that apply to you, even if they are not labeled “required.”
Timeline and award delivery
- Application decisions will be updated in June; status will show as either offered or denied.
- Applicants can check their status by logging into their Scholarship Central account.
- Scholarship funds will be sent to recipients’ schools in August.
