Water Ski Foundation Scholarships

Introduction
The USA Water Ski & Wake Sports Foundation awards thousands of dollars in college scholarships each year to young athletes involved in water sports.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens and entering undergraduate study as an incoming Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or an accredited trade school.
- Enrollment must be full-time. Awards are intended for undergraduates only (graduate students are not eligible).
- No recipient may receive the scholarship for more than three academic years.
- Recipients must be enrolled and attending school for the entire academic year during which the award is given.
Application components and evaluation
Applications are reviewed according to academic performance and documented accomplishments. Required supporting materials include:
- Two letters of reference
- A 500-word essay or a video of similar length/content
- Information about school and community involvement
In addition to these criteria, the selection panel will take into account the applicant’s contributions to water sports—whether as a skier, rider, barefooter, tournament volunteer, or official.
Deadlines and selection
- Application deadline: April 1
- Finalists are chosen by a National Selection Committee based on the submitted application materials.
- Winners will be notified by July 15.

Previous scholarship winners recommend preparing early: choose appropriate classes, get involved in clubs, volunteer in your community, and remain active in your sport to strengthen your application.
