About AIEF
- The American Indian Education Fund (AIEF) exists to expand educational access for American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian learners. Our goal is resilient, self-reliant Native communities. Scholarship recipients are selected by a national review committee; awards are determined after a comprehensive evaluation of the submitted application.
Applications and deadlines
- Now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 academic year. Submit by April 4, 2026.
- Undergraduate and Graduate (2026–2027)
- Deadline: April 4, 2026 @ 11:59 pm EST
- Early deadline: March 1, 2026 @ 11:59 pm EST (applications received by this date earn 1 extra point)
- Vocational (2026)
- Deadline: April 4, 2026
Eligibility requirements
- Must be American Indian, Alaska Native, or Native Hawaiian. The applicant or one parent must be officially enrolled and able to provide documentation.
- Intending to attend an accredited 2- or 4-year college/university or a technical/vocational school in the upcoming Fall term.
- Must enroll as a full-time student.
- Preferred undergraduate GPA range: 2.0–3.5, though all current and prospective undergraduate students are encouraged to apply.
- An ACT score of 14 or higher is preferred.
- Online-only institutions and summer programs are ineligible.
