A) Typically 20 scholarship offers each year
B) Must apply by the October 15 Early Action deadline to UGA in order to apply for Foundation Fellowship
C) Suggested minimum academic GPA of 3.9 (unweighted) to apply
D) Average GPA of recipients in recent years: 4.3
E) A record of strong academic achievement and a history of accomplishment and leadership in co-curricular activities
F) Only students who have applied for the Foundation Fellowship will be considered for the Bernard Ramsey Honors Scholarships
Benefits of Bernard Ramsey Honors Scholarship
A) Annual stipend: $6,260 plus the Zell Miller Scholarship (currently worth $9,790 per year) for Georgia resident students and a first-year housing supplement of $614;
B) Annual stipend for non-resident students: $10,260 plus Presidential waiver (currently worth $19,040 per year) and a first-year housing supplement of $1,228
C) Domestic spring break service trips. In recent years, Ramseys have traveled to San Francisco, Seattle, Austin, New Orleans, Miami, Charleston Asheville and the Mississippi Delta
D) Individual travel-study grants of $3,000 (closely related to students' academic and professional goals, can be combined with semester stipends for study overseas for a full semester or academic year)
E) Special seminars and book discussions with UGA and visiting professors
F) Faculty and peer mentoring
G) Twice-a-year, all-scholar retreats
H) Participation in a community of young scholars who stimulate each other's intellectual and personal development through the exchange of ideas and experiences.
